Hi folks. Due to the usual reasons, we are holding our meeting a little later in the month. Again, at the Atlantic. Our speaker this month will be our own DAN certified physician, Charles Bower.
Dr Charles Bower is an Interventional Radiologist at Goshen Hospital in Indiana who primarily treats vascular diseases and cancer patients. As a DAN referral physician, his practice also includes diving medical examinations. He is an experienced recreational diver having been certified for 35 years and having done about 1000 dives.
Dr Bower will talk to us about Medical Evaluation of Fitness to Dive. Have you ever wondered what happens if you answer yes to a question on the dive medical form? He will cover how we evaluate someone who wants to dive, and the approach to evaluating if someone is safe to dive with common medical conditions. He will also cover some of the common diving injuries with emphasis on how to avoid them, how to mitigate risk from common medical conditions, and safe return to diving after dive related illness or injury. He will then take questions from the audience.
