This is the first gathering of Chicago Social Liberty — a space for people who believe in freedom and solidarity, autonomy and compassion.
We’re not reenacting old revolutions. We’re figuring out what it means to live freely and ethically inside late-stage capitalism — to build humane systems without waiting for permission. Think: co-ops instead of corporations, mutual aid instead of charity, tech that serves people instead of shareholders.

We draw from David Graeber’s anarchist humanism, bell hooks’ radical love, and Mark Fisher’s weary hope that “the end of capitalism” might one day be easier to imagine than the end of the world.

Expect conversation, not consensus. A few drinks, not a manifesto. No dogma, no gatekeeping — just people trying to think and build their way out of the trap together.

Let’s decide if this is a pilot — a single night — or a prologue to something real.
