What we’re about
A Rust programming language meetup here in Ōtautahi Christchurch. We'll likely have a regular talk on Rust, do a bit of socialising, and talk about any of the current events in the Rust community. If there are companies looking to find Rust programmers, this will hopefully be a good place to do a bit of networking.
Anyone who is interested in Rust should feel free to join. No prior experience required.

Join us for our monthly Christchurch Rust meetup—this time, a little earlier in the month for a special occasion! We're excited to welcome Tim McNamara as our guest speaker.
Talk:
Tim McNamara: Why Your Async (Rust|Python|TypeScript) is Slow
This will be a brief tour of what can make async code significantly slower than it seems like it should be. We'll spend most of the time talking about Rust, but almost all of the talk will be applicable to programmers that use asynchronous code in other languages, including Python, JavaScript and C#.Tim is visiting from Wellington and is the organiser of Rust Forge Conf later this year. He’s the author of Rust in Action, host of the Compose podcast, and creator of the timClicks YouTube channel. Before founding Accelerant, Tim was the Head of Rust Education at AWS, where he helped teams adopt Rust at scale.
We will be meeting at Partly HQ located at 210 Armagh street, Level 2, Partly office. Entrance is at the back of the building. Doors open at 5.30pm, with the talks starting at 6:00pm.
Partly is generously providing food and drinks.
As always, Rust beginners are very welcome!
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
