Details

If you like waterfalls and beautiful rainforests, Springbrook National Park’s longest hike (14km aprox 5hr) the Warrie Circuit, is for you. Springbrook National Park is about 90 minutes from Brisbane. Walk leaves 8am sharp. Be early !

The loop track takes you from the top of the canyon to the forest floor and back up. Along the way you walk over, behind and around more than half a dozen waterfalls.

Fitness levels
I’ve done the circuit before and I did 13.7km in 4hrs 38 minutes, with plenty of photo stops and a mini food stop. Given the size of the group and various fitness levels, it might take longer.

The walk is suitable for most ages and average fitness levels, but it would be beneficial if you have some hiking experience. The tracks are well-formed and marked but have steep downhill sections at the start and steep uphill sections at the end (because what goes down must come back up again). At times there can be a lot of steps and uneven ground. In parts, there may be obstacles you need to go over or under. A person with low-level fitness can participate but may find it more challenging.
We will all be there to support and encourage one another along the way.

Food and water
The old-school rule of thumb that has served many a hiker well over the years has been to aim to drink one litre of water per two hours of hiking. So as a minimum bring around 2L.

Bring your favourite food and snacks to have along the way.

Other things to pack
Sunscreen, sandwiches, snacks, first aid kit. Whatever you bring, try and keep your pack light. It’s a long walk 🥾 🐜 🍃

Waiver: This walk is at your own risk.
