What we’re about
The purpose of the group is to honor, promote, and steward the Italian culture through social gatherings and other events that celebrate and share the beauty of the Italian heritage and language.
The Meetup group is open to all who share the love and interest of the Italian culture and language and is sponsored by the Contemporary Italian Cultural Society (CICS).
Events are mostly to socialize and build friendships while conversing in Italian, if desired.

The Book Club is now reading Mezza Italiana: An Enchanting Story About Love, Family, La Dolce Vita and Finding Your Place in the World by Zoë Boccabella. An enjoyable and easy to read book with beautiful descriptions of the Italian landscape. The book provides good insight into Italian culture.
We’ll discuss the book over dinner at Enzo & Lucia Ristorante, 343 Old McHenry Road in Long Grove.
