Beginners D&D 5e (2014) - The Slime Cave One-Shot

The remote farm village of Norwall is a pretty peaceful place overall. Each year it attracts a few tourists to the crumbled ruins of the Orthive's Tower and it's famous "Slime Cave". The river that emerges from the cave is thick with glowing green sludge that gives the cavern exit an eerie aura and colors the water interestingly for quite a ways. It's pretty, in a gross sort of way...

You're passing through Norwall and notice the freshly acid-scarred fields and streets of the village. Suddenly, you spy a pale yellowish-brown ooze overtake an unaware farmer at the edge of town and begin consuming him! It's time for action!

We'll provide dice, pencils, paper, and basically anything you'll need to play, so you can just show up, learn, and most importantly have fun!

Pregenerated characters provided, but if you'd like to bring your own, here are the details: 2014 PHB only, standard array or point buy, 3rd level, standard starting equipment + background equipment + 500 GP and 1 uncommon magic item.
