Hike to the Devou Park

🌄 Join Me for a Scenic & Social Hike Adventure!

I’m excited to share one of my favorite local routes with you—this hike has a little bit of everything: city charm, hidden gems, and one of the best views of Cincinnati at the top. Please read through the details below so you’re ready to go!

📍 Starting Point
We’ll meet at Covington Yard (KY). If you’re running late, no stress—just send me a quick message and we’ll make sure you’re not left behind.

🚗 Parking
Plenty of paid parking is available right in front of the meetup spot. Let me know if you need help finding it!

🥾 Distance & Pace
I typically do about 7.5 miles, but we’ll keep it flexible based on the group. Expect anywhere from 5.5 to 7.5 miles at a moderate, social pace (~3.3 mph).
We’ll take a well-earned break at the top for about 10 minutes—perfect for relaxing, chatting, and soaking in the views. Refer to the screenshot for the full route.

⚠️ Good to Know
The final 10–15 minutes include a steeper stretch without sidewalks. We’ll take it slow, pause as needed, and stay alert—cars do pass occasionally, but drivers are usually cautious.

🌟 What Makes This Hike Special
Most of the route winds through local streets, but the real reward comes at the top with a stunning overlook of Cincinnati (trust me—it’s worth it!).

• John Volz Trail (optional)
• Scenic overlook (the star of the show!)
• Prisoners Lake (optional)
• Riverside Murals & Covington Plaza (optional)
• Riverwalk along the KY side (optional)
• A peek at Purrfect Day Cat Cafe (cat lovers, you’re welcome 😄)

We’ll cancel if the weather doesn’t cooperate—safety first.

🍽 After the Hike
We’ll finish back at Covington Yard, and if people are up for it, we can grab dinner or drinks together to wrap up the day.
