MCP Server with Fabric - Meeting Cancelled
Details
We regret to inform you that this event has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we are currently working to reschedule this session.
๐ธ Important! Microsoft Community Tenant is retiring (Community operations continue!)
Beyond this specific cancellation, we would like to update the Data Driven community regarding significant infrastructure changes that might impact our operations.
As announced by Microsoft, the Microsoft Community Tenant (msftcommunity.com) is scheduled to be retired on Thursday, August 6, 2026. You can read the official announcement from Microsoft here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/mgci-news/community-and-education-tenant-retirement/4528125
This change presents substantial challenges for our community operations, as our current infrastructure - including our Microsoft Teams environment - relies on this tenant.
We are currently evaluating our options and working to determine how we can continue our activities in the future. At this time, there is no other change - please follow our website for further announcements.
๐ธ Future Data Driven Summit 2026 is cancelled!
Furthermore, we would like to share that we have made the decision not to run the Future Data Driven Summit this year. After multiple successful years of running what is likely the biggest Data platforms virtual event, with dozens of speakers and thousands of registrants, we will skip this year and pause our flagship summit as we navigate these changes.
๐ธ Community email and contacting the team
Since the Microsoft Community Tenant (msftcommunity.com) will be retired, all our emails using that domain will no longer work. Should you have any questions or need to reach out to the community team, please feel free to contact us directly via LinkedIn:

[Original Event Details and Abstract below]
In this session, I explore how the Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables a new way for AI agents to securely and intelligently interact with Microsoft Fabric.
Youโll see how MCP servers expose Power BI semantic models and Fabric data agents as discoverable tools, allowing agents to reason over enterprise data, query it in natural language, act on top of it and edit semantic models for Power BI.
I will walk through real scenarios where data agents and Power BI models become first-class citizens in agent workflows, unlocking more contextual, trustworthy, and scalable AI experiences across the Fabric ecosystem.
