7:30 pm - Break
8:00 pm - Understanding the software supply chain - Anthony Harrison

Making cloud-native stream processing mundane with Bento

An introduction to bento from one of the core maintainers, a data-streaming-tool that simplifies building reliable pipelines. We’ll cover how Bento connects systems, transforms and enriches data using its declarative config, and handles delivery guarantees, which makes creating and running Bento streaming pipelines operationally mundane.

Understanding the software supply chain

The landscape of software development has shifted from a primarily creative and engineering-driven process to one increasingly focused on the assembly and rapid integration of third-party components. This reliance on external libraries and frameworks is driven by the growing complexity of applications and the imperative to accelerate time-to-market. However, this expediency introduces significant challenges:

  • Do you have a comprehensive understanding of the composition of your software?
  • Are you fully aware of the risks these integrated components pose to your organisation and your customers?

This presentation will provide an introduction to Software Bill of Materials (SBOMs) and demonstrate how their strategic implementation within your Secure Development Lifecycle can provide critical insights and mitigate these evolving risks.
