Running AI Agents and Building Platforms on Kubernetes
Details
Join us for an evening of insightful talks, valuable connections, and great company. Two open source projects, one evening, from running AI agents inside your Kubernetes cluster to the developer platform underneath them.
Talk 1 - kagent
Speaker: Akshay Adsul (solo.io)
Built by the team behind Istio and now a CNCF project, kagent brings AI agents into Kubernetes as first class citizens. Agents, sessions and tools are declared as CRDs, so they version, review and ship through the same GitOps pipeline as the rest of your infrastructure. We'll cover the control plane architecture, MCP tool integration and agent to agent delegation, and how agents inherit your existing security and observability posture with mTLS, RBAC, OpenTelemetry and Prometheus, and how sandboxing and ephemeral agents keep workloads isolated without leaving them running and burning resources.
Talk 2 - OpenChoreo
Speaker: TBC
OpenChoreo is an open source internal developer platform for Kubernetes, originally built by WSO2 from its experience running Choreo as a SaaS platform and now a CNCF project. Rather than stitching a dozen tools together, platform teams get a production ready foundation: a multi plane architecture, a Backstage powered developer portal, built in CI/CD and GitOps, an integrated observability stack, and a platform API where you define your own abstractions as CRDs instead of writing Kubernetes controllers. The separation of concerns is the point: developers say what they want to run, the control plane works out how, and platform engineers govern the boundaries, all without hiding Kubernetes from anyone.
