πŸ₯Ύ Route: Hydro Track to Caher Mountain (Approx. 9.5 km out-and-back, 856 m elevation gain)
Join us for a rugged ascent into the heart of the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks as we follow the Hydro Track past Lough Eighter and onto the ridgeline leading to Caher West Top and the summit of Caher. Expect steep climbs, rocky terrain, and panoramic views across Coomloughra Lake and the Dingle Peninsula.

Difficulty: Hard – suitable for experienced hikers with good fitness
Estimated Duration: 4.5–5 hours
Terrain: Rocky, exposed, with some scrambling sections
Weather: Check the forecast and come prepared – this route can be serious in poor conditions

What to Bring:

  • Sturdy hiking boots
  • Waterproof layers and warm clothing
  • Food, snacks, and plenty of water
  • Walking poles (recommended for descent)
  • A spirit of adventure and camaraderie
