Update 07/16/26
Latest weather forecast indicates over 90% chance of thunderstorms (with strong gusty winds) on Saturday, July 18. So, this event is being moved forward 24 hours to Sunday, July 19. Hope this change still works for those who RSVP'd for the original date... if not, then, please update your RSVP.
This time we'll paddle Carnegie Lake, home to the Princeton University and the US Olympic, rowing teams. We’ll do a nice easy circuit of about 3 - 4 miles. After the paddle, we’ll head over to one of the eateries in Princeton for some refreshment and socializing.
Meet up point will be the parking lot of the Lake Carnegie Public Boat Launch located on the northwest end of the lake on the eastern side of Princeton-Kingston Rd (Rt. 27) – see the pin in the location map.
There is no rental facility here, so, you’ll have to have your own kayak, canoe or paddle board. Rentals are available at
1. Princeton Canoe and Kayak Rental (3.6 mi. from the boat launch)
2. Griggstown Canoe and Kayak Rental (8.6 mi. from the boat launch).
3. A Canoe to You (https://www.acanoetoyou.com/)
Thanks to anyone and everyone who can provide assistance to others in carpooling or getting rented gear to the site of this event.
As safety measures, bring a BYD (life vest) and a whistle. Also, please note that this is NOT a training or instructional event for any persons who have never been out in a kayak or on a paddle board before. All participants must have some basic experience with operating either of these watercraft and some basic familiarity with the equipment.
The event is scheduled TO BEGIN at 11:00 AM sharp, so, anyone who intends to use an INFLATABLE kayak or paddle board must arrive at the meet up point AT LEAST A HALF HOUR EARLY (10:30 AM) to inflate your watercraft and be ready to go at 11:00 AM sharp – it’s not fair to the other participants to make them wait around for you to do this.
As always, attendance at this and all other Meetup events, is at the risk of the attendee who waives all rights to hold any and all event hosts, organizers and leaders liable for any injury, loss or damage sustained in the event of any accident or mishap.
