Common Ground: A Meetup for London’s Newest Locals

Details
Just moved to London?
Got the job, found the flat… but still figuring out the friends part?
Yeah... we’ve been there too.
We’re Alex, Ray, and Bekkah. We all moved to London and realised something:
This city’s full of people, but somehow it’s still hard to meet your people.
Most meetups are too big. Networking events feel like work. Dating apps? Not it.
So we started something new.
'Whot's' all this then?
Common Ground is a small, curated meetup for young professionals who’ve just landed in London and want to build a proper friend group
It’s not about swapping names and never seeing each other again.
It’s not a forced-fun mixer or a weird social experiment.
A chance to speak to have chats and meet people also new to London
The Plan:
🗓 Tuesday 6th August
📍 Clapham Common (we’ll send the exact location the day before)
⏰ 7pm – 11pm
🥤Drinks
👥 20 people max
🎟 Free
How it works:
When you RSVP, we’ll ask a couple of light questions. Nothing too personal, just enough to get a feel for what you’re into and why you want to come.
We handpick who joins each event to keep the vibe comfortable, chill, and genuinely enjoyable, for everyone.
It’s not just about whether you choose us, but whether we can make sure you’ll enjoy it too.
Think of it less like applying, and more like making sure you’re walking into the right room
Who it’s for
• You’re 20–30, new(ish) to London
• You’re up for making proper mates
• You’re open to chat
