Discussion: The Depth Psychology of Romance
Details
## Third Thursdays Seekers’ Salons: Discussing Matters of Psyche, Soul & Consciousness
## February Topic: Depth Psychology of Romance
Seekers’ Salons are small, soulful discussion circles devoted to exploring the hidden patterns that shape our lives—through the lenses of psyche, soul, archetypes, myth, and embodied wisdom. Think old-world salon gathering meets modern depth psychology: curious minds, open hearts, and thoughtful, meaningful dialogue.
As Valentine’s Day—and its glossy, consumer-driven ideas about love—approaches, this felt like the right moment to explore what romance looks like beneath the surface.
We’ll be discussing the depth psychology of romance, guided by the short but potent book:
We: Understanding the Psychology of Romantic Love by Robert A. Johnson (1983).
Using the myth of Tristan and Iseult, Johnson offers a Jungian lens on romantic love, illuminating how attraction, longing, projection, and heartbreak are tied to our deeper quest for wholeness and self-discovery. Together, we’ll explore how understanding these unconscious dynamics can help us cultivate more conscious, grounded, and soulful partnerships.

Ways to participate + engage:
- Support your local bookstore by ordering a copy to read

✨ Bonus points (optional but great!):
📘 He and She by Robert A. Johnson
(Both very short and available on Audible and at local bookstores)
This is a space for reflection, conversation, and connection with like-minded and like-hearted seekers. I'm planning to hold Seekers' Salons at my house every Third Thursday that I am in town, and virtually when not. This is a great opportunity to build meaningful, supportive community. Come whether you’re partnered, single, healing, or simply curious about love and the psyche.
