Circuit & PCB Design session (CCHS Members)

Details

This CCHS session concentrates on electronic circuit design, circuit board design and manufacture, and assembly (soldering!).

It's suitable for all experience levels, only prerequisite is being (or becoming) a current CCHS member. For more details about CCHS including membership, visit http://hackmelbourne.org

Structure is largely informal, interspersed with short talks - please let us know if you'd like to give either a lightning talk or a more in-depth separate presentation on something. Members commonly use the KiCAD and Eagle EDA tools, but the techniques discussed apply to a broad range of popular EDA tools.

These sessions are well supported by a Quickturn PCB service (2 and 4 layer boards available), where we pool our designs onto a single PCB panel, and regular free-shipping and/or discount parts orders on Digikey, Element14, Altronics, Adafruit and other suppliers.

There are also the many useful CCHS tools to work with. These include the mini mill for PCB engraving, laser cutter, 3D printers, hot air gun(s), soldering stations, stereo microscope, toaster oven and lots of other general tools.

Along the way we'll play with some printed electronics, send off community flex pcb order, develop some CCHS open source designs, and learn plenty from each other.

Please ask if you have any questions, look forward to seeing you there.
