Join us for the talks with our current artists in residency, Alexandra Stroganova, Eleonora Serpente and Chiara Gambirasio. They will be joined by the visiting curator Martina Aiazzi Mancini.
Our residence artists will share their artistic practice and the projects they are currently working on. The presentations will be followed by a round of discussions joined by the curator Martina Aiazzi Mancini who will present ‘A dimora’ residency project in Londa, Italy.
Alexandra Stroganova (b. 1990) is a transdisciplinary artist based in Helsinki. Her artistic work spans a wide range of media, combining research with experimental uses of materials and sustainable practices. Currently, Alexandra is drawn to alternative photographic processes such as cyanotype, anthotype, and analogue photography. Through her artistic practice, she challenges the divides between nature and culture, human and non-human, and past-present-future. In her work, Alexandra draws on feminist philosophies such as new materialism and hydrofeminism, promoting the ethics of care and attentiveness, where more-than-human agents such as water, plants, and fungi become active collaborators.
Eleonora Serpente (b. 1999) is a Milan-based dancer, choreographer, and with Roberta Di Serio co-founder of the dance collective gruppocorp3. The collective creates, in collaboration with visual artists and musicians, screen dance projects, interactive performances and live installations, focusing on the influence that artwork produces on natural, artificial and human environments. Her work explores the intersections of movement, visual art, and technology, often engaging with themes of environmental interaction and human perception.
Chiara Gambirasio (Bergamo, 1996) lives and works in Mapello (BG), Italy. Her practice, which she defines as “Kenoscromìa” — a chromatic vibration in/of the void — is rooted in the study of color as the meeting point between matter, light, the observing subject, and the passage of time. Public works include: Spaesaggio (Londa, FI, 2025), Farsi Eruttare Altrove (Latera, VT and Montevaccino, TN, 2025); V’arco (Castione della Presolana, BG, 2024); Terre D’Istanti (Mapello, BG, 2023); Ammiraggio (Mount Stivo, TN, 2023); and Sedimento (Spilamberto, MO, 2021). Her works have been presented in solo exhibitions at Museo Novecento in Florence and GAMeC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Bergamo; and in group exhibitions at MMSU – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka, Museo di Villa Croce in Genoa, Palazzo Ducale in Gubbio, and Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence.
Martina Aiazzi Mancini is a curator of the A dimora, an artist residency program that ended its third edition in 2025, taking place during June and July in the Municipality of Londa, in the province of Florence. Each year, the project selects artists with the aim of activating participatory dynamics within the local area, exploring its potential through artistic practices and dialogue with the local community. Funded by the PNRR Cultura with resources from Next Generation EU and co-funded by the European project Future DiverCities (Creative Europe Programme), A dimora promotes processes of research, exchange, and interaction, encouraging access to the natural, cultural, and social heritage of the Valdisieve area. Each artist is invited to develop a project capable of interpreting and enhancing the needs and sensibilities that characterize the territory, generating a strengthened and shared cultural identity. During the residency period, public events, open studios, and moments of exchange enrich each participant’s experience, facilitating encounters with experts, professionals, and residents. A dimora is part of the broader Montagna Fiorentina program — a culture-based territorial regeneration plan involving the municipalities of Londa and San Godenzo, in collaboration with LAMA Impresa Sociale, a Florence-based organization active for over 18 years in processes of territorial innovation and sustainability.
