Meet @Fitzroy Gardens Cafe ☕ GARDENS WALK 🍂 + Flinders St Heritage📜 &Birrarung

Fitzroy Gardens are in East Melbourne, & the pleasant Kere Kere cafe is next to the new visitors centre, just off Wellington Pde.
We will meet at the cafe, at front, Outside, to enjoy a coffee/tea or treat. Then WALK looking at features of the lovely heritage listed gardens, & We can also walk to Birrarung Marr, + look at Flinders St Heritage places. Both these are optional, & depends on how long we walk in the Gardens.

**I will first wait @old Red Round Post Box outside cafe, until a few arrive.
We'll then be either inside as close to the entrance as we can get a table,
or outside at front of cafe, depending where there's tables.
*PLEASE ARRIVE within 20 minutes of Meet start time as we'll start the walk within 30 minutes of Meetup start time.

I will be WEARING a navy & burgundy cap, & a blue top (& a jacket).

After the meetup we can find another cafe either finishing walk then, or return to start point if people need to. (another option will be to go to near Parliament Station).
This last part will be decided on the day. Cafe time at end isn't included in the Meetup duration times stated.

AT FITZROY GARDENS there's the fairy tree, the miniature Tudor village, the bark tree & more, and Cook's cottage. At Treasury Gardens there's interesting statues & nice designed area next to a small lake.
There's also the very lovely plants & flowers conservatory (if open again).
I will point you to these locations & historical features in the gardens but it's mainly just a wander, not a history tour/walk like i often do.
If any attendees came on my last walk in Fitzroy Gardens we'll be going to a few different things, as well as walking along less known paths.
While our walk will take about 2 hours, it is only 3-4 kms, as we will stopping at various places to learn a bit re them, or stopping for photos

GETTING THERE - to Kere Kere Cafe @Fitzroy Gardens:
Easy 7 minute walk (from Spring St) along Flinders St/Wellington Parade.
OR
Tram:
48 or 75 tram from city along Flinders St, to Wellington Pde Stop 10
(or you can walk from stop at end/start of the free tram zone at cnr of Flinders & Spring Sts).
OR
Train: to Jolimont Station on the Hurstbridge/South Morang Line.
Then walk 5 minutes, west, along Wellington Pde to the cafe.
Parking: Claredon St or around Landsdowne St (closer), East Melbourne are better options with longer parking times. Albert St on north side of Fitzroy Gardens is often easier place to a longer duration free* parking spot.
Mostly free, but there's some meter parking on weekends (on Sat & Sun from 12:30 Sat) with 2 or 4 hour spots.
