DAREBIN CREEKside & DAREBIN PARKLANDS WALK (Alphington-Fairfield area)

Enjoy a pleasant walk along the Darebin Creek & Alphington parks trails.
With optional drinks at end, at happy hour prices, from 5pm.
*Meet outside Alphington Station for the walk, Meet Outside platform 2/outbound platform (shops side).
For those who can only come later or just want to join us for drinks from, you're welcome to do so for just that, from 5 to 6ish. Venue info below.

During the walk We can walk from Alphington Station, via a parkland loop & pretty waterside path, to great new-ish wide path alongside Darebin Creek and runs under Heidelberg Rd.

We will loop back till we get to a cafe or a takeaway coffee/tea place near the parklands. Can stop briefly & after return, go to a bar/restaurant, Aphington Social, on other side of railway line from Meet point.
Aphingon Social has Happy hour prices from 5pm to 6:30pm
Estimated walking time & distance: approx 5kms/75-90 mins.
Cafe time is in addition to that.
(*I'm very familiar with area but haven't timed or check distance of my own walks there, so distances and times are very approximate).

Cafe near Station is only open till 3pm, & toilets open only when market on. Next nearest public toilets are 15 mins away but are along our walk.
(Are toilets on Outbound Platform at Clifton Hill Station, 4 stations prior)

Alphington Station is on the Hurstbridge train line, thru & past Clifton Hill,
The 508 bus travels along Separation St Northcote to Alphington Station
(may be best option if in northern Northcote or northern Fairfield) or if coming from Brunswick area, or from further north suburbs

Parking: there's plenty of unrestricted parking on same side as the railway line a bit away from the station, & on houses side a bit away from the Alphington shops.
As usual: bring water, a hat/cap,comfortable shoes.
Keep left at all times & no more than 2 people side by side (as it's shared bike/pedestrian path). Be alert at all times for bikes.
