The evening will be a hybrid event hosted by the DDD Melbourne crew and consist of short & sharp presentations of fifteen minutes in length on a dev related subject.

This is my tribute to Ian Cooper who has some outstanding and eye opening talks. `Where did all go wrong` series. He has this on TDD and Microservices.
Here I am talking about the origin of Event Driven Architectures in a nutshell; the benefits it certainly brings, but the challenges/drawbacks and investment it needs. I will introduce you to a pattern of an EDA, which helps reduce any overheads that typically comes about.

But why would you need to use them if you are not allowing your users to cancel anything?In this talk I will focus on what a Cancellation Token is, why they are useful and why and how you should use them specifically in ASP.NET.

Ruby Native Extensions in Rust

Nick recently re-wrote a Ruby dependency originally built on a native extension written in C, with Rust. This had benefits on execution speeds and maintainability, but came with some gotchas. We'll cover the gotchas, and where this work will go next!
