RedRum Live Music Session

Dear music lovers,

RedRum Sessions is a Berlin-based event series featuring various brilliant musicians and performers from all corners of the world in one of Berlins coolest cocktail bars; RedRum Artbar.

At the RedRum Sessions, we consistently book international Berlin based musicians with different styles and backgrounds, all events are curated and organised by The Traveling Stage.

On our 40th session, we're throwing a genre fluid, multi-cultural night with two Berlin based acts; we are featuring Latino Jazz duo Mate Cocido and the Swedish born Art Rock Carls Issa.

It will be a grand evening, and we're looking forward to seeing you all there.

Mate Cocido - Latino Jazz

Mate Cocido performs Latin American music with a repertoire that spans various rhythms and musical genres from Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. The ensemble blends styles such as jazz, folklore, and classical music, incorporating improvised passages and special arrangements of the repertoire. It is a fusion of popular music with a modern, academic perspective, without losing the character and original feel of Latin American folklore.
The diversity of composers in the repertoire—including Hermeto Pascoal, Egberto Gismonti, Astor Piazzolla, and Julián Aguirre—together with the group’s own arrangements and original compositions, makes the music a true journey full of emotion. The ensemble is led by Juan Beck, an Argentine pianist, composer, and music educator. For this event, Mate Cocido performs as a duo.

Carls Issa - Art Rock
Carls Issa is an independent artist from Sweden based in Berlin. Hes currently studying film butalso planning to pursue music. His influences are from a lot of 60s and 70s rock music and he iscurrently trying to find a new expression for what modern rock can be. He usually performs with the best backing band in the world, ”Stacey and the Mannequins”, but sometimes also goes solo acoustic.

The event is hosted by William Chee-Awai and Mayar Attia as The Traveling Stage.
