Hike and Christmas Market: Gengenbach Weinschleife, Schwarzwald, 7 km, 200 hm

We're going to another non-mainstream Christmas market, this time in Gengenbach in central Black Forest. Gengenbach looks like a very charming little town with lots of half-timbered houses. This place is actually not far from Strasbourg and the furthest south we have been so far.

This is a medium to easy hike with a length of 7 km and an ascent of 200 hm (both below the average of our hikes).

We are probably going to be back in Gengenbach by around 4 pm and then spend some time at the Christmas market.

Getting there:

• take RE2 from Karlsruhe Hbf at 12:09, track 12
• arriving in Gengenbach 13:03 - we start hiking from there.

What to bring:

• water (1-2 l), snacks
• weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes
• cash for the Christmas market - cards are not common there.
