This is a somewhat historic hike. We're going to a village near Forbach that seems to have an active heritage society, offering these attractions:
- a rebuilt water mill (see photo) and
- a small museum which covers village life from a hundred years ago.
We might also get to see some deer.

This is a relatively easy to medium hike. Distance is 6.7 km but we are probably going to do two short detours, bringing the total closer to 8 km.
I estimate we will be back in Karlsruhe before 6pm.

Getting there:

*From Karlsruhe Hbf: take S8, departing 11:11 from Bahnhofsvorplatz (in front of the station building).

  • (You can also get on this train in a few other stops, such as Tullastraße and Marktplatz.)
*We arrive in Forbach at 12:16 and start hiking from there.
  • Coming by car? Join as at Forbach Bahnhof.

What to bring:

*water and snacks

  • weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes - There might be a bit of rain.

Any questions, comment on this event or message me in English or German.

Please contribute around 5 € per year to the group (cash or via https://paypal.me/karlsoutd). This helps cover Meetup membership costs and supports the time and effort that goes into organizing regular hikes.
If donating isn’t possible for you, that’s fine, you’re always welcome to join.
