Frankfurt hosts a wide range of movie festivals. This week Nippon Connection, the world’s largest Japanese movie festival outside Japan(!!!), takes place in different cinemas in town.

This afternoon’s movie (82 mins) is a mystery comedy about two pupils who are exposed to strange changes in behaviour of a classmates, ending in a horror dystopia (no violence). The movie features Anna Yamada, the shooting star of the festival who will be present and there will be a short Q&A with her and the producer after the screening.

The movie is shown in Japanese with English subtitles.

We meet a little bit before the start of the movie in the cinema lobby to chat, and then proceed to the cinema.

Tickets are 11€. I’m sitting 3rd row

After the movie, we can have a short chat in the lobby and go for a drink (or to the festival centre)
