Join us for a fun and friendly Mah Jongg games with the-Downtown Decatur Adult Co-ed 30+ Meetup, American Mahjong Social Club! Whether you're a seasoned player or just curious about this classic game, all skill levels are welcome. Connect with members of the 30+community in Decatur while enjoying a game that blends strategy, skill, and a bit of luck. Mah Jongg is a great way to socialize, relax, and challenge your mind.
Don't worry if you're new to the game - our group is welcoming and happy to help newcomers. (See Lesson offering under events) Bring your tiles and racks, or simply come to learn and observe. We will have a table for beginners and more for Intermediate, advanced players.
The Venue is in Downtown Decatur will be published each week. We have 2 options of Venues. We have plenty of room for lunch and or our Friday Lunch and Play at Cafe Lily in Decatur. We have 6 tables for 24 players and chairs for newbies that want to watch.
Our other times to play are the 1st and 3rd Weds and the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 6;30 PM at Bench Warmers in Decatur.

Every Fridays with Lunch at Cafe Lily. 1130 Meet for lunch, Play at 1245ish to 3P max. We just show up to have lunch, a table for 4 to 8 is available for us.
Our First Beginner Series of Lessons were held on Wednesdays from 530P to 6P social/cocktails, 6 to 8 pm lessons on April 23, April 30, May 7, and May 14th at Cafe Lily, see the events page. Our next series of Lessons will start in June. But come by any time we are playing and check us out, watch and learn.

they are $14 or $15 for Large type. (We suggest Large Type Card) Only order from the National Org, as many bootlegged cards out on amazon, Walmart and other places. New cards come out every end of March , which keeps the game interesting. We do have about 4 cards extra from our recent order, just ask.
We will use Official 2025 Cards. Bring you 2025 card or your new one. (we have extra's you can borrow until your card comes). First meet up was April 11th, 2025 and we had 11 players of which 6 were beginners, but we are growing.

We are asking members to pay your annual membership fee of $10, please use My Zelle. Barbara Rowland 404-314-9092 barb@barbrowland.com. or my Venmo. @barbara-rowland-0 (404-314-9092) . Instead of the PayPal meet up which is automatically set up. They charge us $2.25 per $10 charge. The dues are to offset our yearly Meet up Organization fee, supplies, expenses, and a small reserve fund. You can come one time for free to check us out, and if you bring guest it is $5.00 each event.

Cafe Lily has become our Sponsor and is giving us the private room for free but they are requesting everyone try to spend or support the restaurant or tell you friends about their great food and service. They have small plates and appetizers, wine beer, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, great desserts all available.
So Starting on April 25 I will be reserving a table and hope you will join me for lunch in the main restaurant. If you are not having lunch we will see you at 12:45P for play. Please do not bring any food or drink to the restaurant. Please tip our server's nicely for your teas, coffee, beverages and food.
