Abstract: A 5-min opening speech to warm up the event. It's been a while and we have a lot to talk, but we will keep it short.

6:50 pm - 7:30 pm, Talk 1: GenAI & LLMs @ AWS, by Eden Duthie and Yin Song
Abstract:

• Eden Duthie, Senior Applied Science Manager from AWS, will be talking about a GenAI solution called Concierge AI that helps many Enterprise customers in ANZ boost the efficiency of their call centres significantly.
• Dr Yin Song will talk about AWS’ contribution on fine tuning large language models to support long context up to 300k tokens.

Speakers intro:

• Eden Duthie, AWS senior applied science manager. He is a technology leader with 20+ years experience across ML, software engineering, and a large range of industrial applications. He is passionate about leading organisations to build and operate solutions applying ML, software, and mathematics as a player coach.
• Dr Yin Song, AWS Senior applied Scientist. His current interest focuses on R&Ds in GenAI and LLMs.

7:30 pm - 8:00 pm, Talk 2: The entrepreneurial journey of an AI professor, by Prof Richard Xu
Abstract: Professor Richard Xu, a name familiar to many in this community, has embarked on a fresh endeavour in his quest as an entrepreneur. Renowned for his relentless pursuit of innovation, Richard has recently navigated a series of significant new experiences: He moved from Sydney to Hong Kong two and half years ago for a new academic post and also delved into the world of AI entrepreneurship. In the dynamic and rapidly advancing realm of artificial intelligence, his journey offers valuable perspectives on both AI research and the entrepreneurial landscape.

Speaker intro: Richard Xu is an unconventional professor whom has also excelled in the area of knowledge dissemination, cutting edge engineering, industry engagement, community building and entrepreneurship.

8:00 pm - 8:10 pm, What's new in Deep Learning - Special edition in LLM, by Dr. Andy Zeng
Abstract: In this session's what's new, we will introduce how GenAI and LLM evolves in the past few years.

Speaker intro: Dr. Andy Zeng is the co-founder of Deep Learning Sydney and an AI expert with contributions across various sectors. As an AI entrepreneur, he currently serves as the CTO of BrewAI.

8:10 pm - 8:20 pm, Call for announcement
Abstract: This session is open for everyone to make announcements that relate to AI. Including hiring in AI and Data, AI product release, seeking for collaborations, AI expert seeking for next steps, etc. Limit to 1 min per person.

8:20 pm - 9:00 pm, Social drinks
