**SuTao Cafe to the rescue!!** We unexpectedly lost our September Dine Around host at the last minute and the only restaurant able to jump in on such short notice was SuTao. Why? Because they've been feeding vegfolk for over 25 years and they have it down to a science. We know this is INCREDIBLY short notice but it is with SINCERE gratitude that we invite you to join us at SuTao Cafe on MONDAY, September 8th where they'll offer their customer-favorite buffet usually reserved for weekends. We do need to sell 50 tickets to this event in order for it to be financially feasible for them to do this huge buffet on a week night. Unfortunately, if we don't hit that goal, ALL tickets will be refunded and the event will be canceled for this month.

Without further ado, here is the entire buffet menu. Scroll to the end for other important info and the ticket link.

Cold items

~Chinese style cold noodles:
Cooked homemade wheat noodles mixed with shredded cucumbers and a special homemade spicy dressing.

~Pickled cabbage and carrots (GF):
Cabbage and carrots marinated with a sweet and sour broth.

~Kimchee (GF):
Korean style pickled Chinese cabbage. It's spicy.

~Chili pepper and cucumber salad (GF):
Shredded cucumbers and chili pepper mixed with salt and vinegar.

~Spicy cabbage salad (GF):
Shredded cabbage, celery, carrots and garlic mixed with a spicy
dressing.

~Kombu Salad (GF):
Seaweed (kombu), shredded celery and carrots mixed with a
sesame oil-based dressing.

~Fuzhu salad (GF):
Condensed soy milk skin (fuzhu) mixed with chopped sweet peppers, cilantro and a sesame oil-based dressing.

~Boiled edamames (GF):

~Broccoli stems (GF):
Peeled broccoli stems marinated with salt, pepper and chili oil.

~White rice and brown rice sushi (GF):
Japanese sushi made from white rice, or brown rice, avocado and
cucumbers.

Soups

~Miso soup (GF):
Made from Japanese miso paste, seaweed and tofu

~Hot and sour soup
Made from shredded celery, carrots, tofu, salt, black pepper, chili sauce and vinegar.

Hot items

~Steamed vegetable dumplings:
Made from chopped cabbage, celery, tofu, scallions and sesame seed oil.

~Spring rolls:
Made from Shredded cabbage, carrots, celery and scallions. It's fried.

~Shrimp toast:
Made from mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, corn and bread. It's fried.

~Crispy fish cutlet:
Vegan fish made from textured soy protein, coated with bread crumbs. It's fried.

~Fried French fries and potato tots

~Veggie chicken chunks (GF):
Vegan chicken chunks made from textured vegetable protein fried and served with chopped sweet peppers and onions.

~Vegetable fried rice (GF):
Cooked white rice Stir fried with the chopped onions, carrots, peas
corn and broccoli.

~Vegetable lo mein:
Cooked spaghetti, stir fried with shredded onions, carrots, cabbage
and broccoli.

~Vegetable rice vermicelli (GF):
Very thin rice noodles stir fried with broccoli, onions, Chinese
cabbage.

~Tofu with broccoli (GF):
Steamed broccoli, carrots and tofu stir fried with a brown sauce.

~General Tsao's chicken:
Textured vegetable protein battered and fried. Served with a sweet and sour brown sauce. Mildly spicy. (Lisa can eat this and she's a wimp.)

~Pepper steak:
Textured vegetable protein stir fried with onions and sweet peppers
in a brown sauce.

~Sweet and sour veggie meatballs:
Made from tofu, carrots. Served with a sweet and sour sauce. (Lisa loves these and doesn't feel like she's eating tofu - your perception may vary.)

~Steamed eggplant (GF):
Steamed Chinese eggplant served with a garlic sauce.

~Treasure island (GF):
Chopped potatoes, carrots, zucchini and vegan chicken stir fried with a brown sauce.

~Steamed collard green (GF):
Steamed collard green and carrots.

~Vegetable delight (GF):
Steamed, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, Chinese cabbage with a white
sauce.

~Stewed chickpeas (Indian style) (GF):
Chickpeas stewed with chopped onions, tomatoes and Indian spice.

~Mashed potatoes with kale (GF):
Mashed potatoes mixed with kale and leek.

~Grilled portabella mushrooms (GF):
Portabella mushrooms grilled and sauteed with onions and sweet pepper.

~Curry chicken (GF):
Stewed carrots, potatoes and vegan chicken with Indian curry.

~Double cooked spicy chicken (GF):
Cabbage, celery, carrots and vegan chicken sauteed with a spicy brown sauce.

~Tofu with the tomatoes (GF):
Fried tofu with chopped onions and tomatoes.

~Roasted potatoes with cumin (GF, spicy)

~Sauteed string beans (GF, spicy) (Lisa eats these - not *that* spicy.)

~Grilled yam (GF)

Desserts

~Homemade apple pies and peach pies

~Candied nuts and candied pecans (GF)

~Coconut rice rolls (GF):
Made from rice flour and coconut oil.

~Fruits (GF):

watermelon, orange, grapes and strawberry.

Beverages:
~Water, self-serve lemonade and iced tea; BYO

Refund Policy: We're happy to issue a refund prior to the date by which our RSVP total is due to the restaurant - the day sales end - in this case 9/2. After that, we have committed to pay for that number of meals. Thank you for understanding!

If we do not sell 50 tickets, ALL tickets will be refunded and the event will be canceled.

IMPORTANT: In the event of severe weather, please keep an eye on our FB page, meetup page, your email, and/or the campaign updates. That's how we'll let you know if we have to postpone due to safety concerns. In the event of a postponement, your ticket will automatically be good for the new date. If you have a conflict for the new date, we'll happily issue a refund up until the RSVP deadline for that new date.
