30th DevOps & AI Latvia meetup on February 24
Workland Telegraph, Audēju iela 15, Rīga, Ce, LVJoin Latvia DevOps & AI Communities 30th event on February 24th at Workland. Doors open at 18:30, talks start at 19:00.
✨Eriks Klotins. Eriks is an engineer and researcher affiliated with Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden. He leads industry–academia collaboration projects with some very well-known global companies to improve their software delivery practices.
Talk name: Towards Continuous Everything. In his talk, he will share insights and lessons learned about how organisations adopt continuous engineering, from planning to systematic collection and analysis of user feedback. He will share anecdotes, common pitfalls, solutions, and practical steps for any organisation to improve its software delivery. The talk is targeted at senior engineers, process leaders, and other decision-makers influencing software delivery.✨Mārtiņš Meļķis. Mārtiņš is a product leader and thinking partner drawn to moments of identity shift — when the old way no longer works, but the new one isn’t clear yet. As a systemic coach, he helps people debug their thinking, regain orientation, and reconnect with what actually matters.
Talk name: Strong, Silent, Lost: What It Means to Be a Man Today?.
For generations, being a man came with a clear script: be strong, provide, don’t complain, keep going. Today, that script is breaking.
Many men find themselves caught between expectations they no longer fully believe in and a future they don’t yet understand — strong, but lonely; successful, but disconnected; capable, but unsure who they are without their roles.
This talk offers a sharp and honest look at why so many men feel fully operational — but strangely off-mission.We will also have a Lightning Talk by:
Maris and Kalvis from KALMARS. Vibe-coding is becoming more popular every day. In this 10-minute session, Maris and Kalvis will talk about common issues and challenges in developing SaaS products, with a focus on the risks and limitations of relying purely on AI when building production-ready solutions. Debug, monitor, Protect your solution with HoloKRAKEN ! We are inviting you to join early beta. This time, the event is sponsored by:

About the event
You might be wondering, what's the value of such an event? Why are other existing Business Networking events not enough? - The key difference is that we meet, enjoy dinner, and discuss whatever we like. It's an event for professionals in Tech to exchange ideas and grow. The special guests will tell a little about themselves and do their best to initiate a discussion if awkward silence enters the room. However, "Runāšana – sudrabs, klusēšana – zelts" (translation: "talking - silver, silence - gold"). It's also a good time to think and listen to conversations that you typically would not have at home and work.Communication and channels:

We record short interviews with special guests for the Riga Tech Cast podcast during the event. Follow on Spotify, YouTube, and other popular places. Tell the host if you want to be featured as well.Expectations from participants:
- try not to be late
- introduce yourself
- don't interrupt others
- come with an empty stomach and pay for your own dinner
- try not to be grumpy if you're hungry
- this is not a party. However, a glass of wine may oil the tongue a bit
- if you don't feel like talking, then don't. But coming to a networking event and not saying a word is like window-shopping
- pay the event fee in cash at the spot. No online transaction is possible
- judgment-free mind is a must
- RSVP - show up or update your status timely if you can't
Why the event fee? - we always have 2 special guests at the event. They have received a special invitation to join us. We should cover their dinner expenses as the least minimum we can do beyond a "thank you". The event fee is a fund for that.
The host: Uldis Karlovs-Karlovskis is an IT expert and Co-founder/CTO @Zen IS. He is a certified DevOps Leader, the board chairman of the DevOps & AI Latvia community, the director of the Dzīvais Rīgas Teātris and a lecturer at the Riga Technical University and Riga Business School.
