Join us for an inspiring evening featuring two prominent leaders in the field of AI as we highlight and celebrate the innovative contributions of women in AI!

Our distinguished speakers:

1. Angela Shi is the Founder and CEO of Empathetic AI. Before starting the company, Angela spent 14 years as a finance professional in the Fintech sector, working with technology-driven companies. The idea for Luna stemmed from her own experiences dealing with the complexities of tax compliance, especially when she managed tax optimization across different jurisdictions as a regional CFO for global companies. Angela is also a casual academic at UNSW and the Institute of Applied Technology. Empathetic AI is a Generative AI startup based in Sydney. The company recently launched Australia’s first AI Tax Copilot, Luna, designed to assist tax professionals by analyzing complex tax scenarios, providing instant answers and insights into decision-making, offering real-time updates on ATO cases and private rulings, and conducting automatic reference checks using Generative AI technology. Empathetic AI recently won 3rd place in Australia's inaugural AI Sprint.
2. Christina Wiremu-Brook is an AI & Data Ethics Specialist providing advice to organisations across sectors on how to engage with AI effectively and responsibly. She currently leads the Safe AI program at the NSW Department of Education.
   Christina has expertise in ethics, data science, and public policy. Her research explored China's use of AI to advance the SDGs. Her diverse background includes leading a non-profit, intergovernmental politics, consulting, and data science roles.
   Christina prides herself as a socio-technical translator, engaging with executives, crafting social policies, and performing advanced analytics. Her strategic vision, commitment to public good, and technical understanding makes her ideally suited to understand and solve our AI Ethics conundrum.

Access the building via the entrance from Shipwright Walk.
