DSAi x HSF presents - LEGAL ESSENTIALS FOR AI STARTUPS

DSAi is back in 2025, and we're partnering with top-tier global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF), where we’ll tackle the legal landscape for AI startups.

This is must-attend event for AI startups. Gain essential legal knowledge from leading lawyers on:

• Setting Up for Success: Choosing the right business structure and key legal considerations for entrepreneurs seeking funding or launching a new AI venture (presented by Elizabeth Henderson, HSF Partner (Venture Capital))
• Protecting Your Innovation: The essentials of intellectual property – understanding copyright, patents, and trademarks for your AI startup (presented by Tess Mierendorff, HSF Partner (IP) and Sam Gonski, HSF Senior Associate (IP)).

Then we'll have a fireside chat with Tom Gooch (Head of Operations & Legal, Neara) on navigating through legal hurdles as a startup.

As usual with our meetups, this event will also include:

• AI tech, market and regulation updates by the DSAi team
• NETWORKING - network with fellow AI entrepreneurs, investors and professionals.

Investors and venture capital folks are also invited to this event (and scout for promising AI startups).

Due to limited spots. You must be registered on Meetup or else you won't be let in. AI startups and investors will be prioritised for this event in case of over-registration.

Getting There:
Two ways to access the building:

• Via the entrance on 161 Castlereagh St (there's construction scaffolding - walk through the scaffolding to access the building entrance. Once you're in the building, find the lift to level 35); or
• Via the entrance on 242 Pitt St (this is right opposite the road from Pitt St exit of The Galeries. Once you're in the building, walk up the stairs to the upper lobby, and find the lift to level 35)

On Arrival:
Staff will be available to escort you upstairs between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. Look for the DSAi branded banners.

Food and networking:
Drinks and canapés will be served upon arrival, with the presentation starting promptly at 6:00 pm. We encourage you to arrive before 6:00 pm to take advantage of networking opportunities.
