Let's take a free, private docent-led tour of the North Carolina Museum of Art. We will be taking the Portraits and Power Tour. "Portraits are one of the strongest parts of the People’s Collection and are found in almost every time period and culture throughout the NCMA. Portraiture is also a marker and gesture of power: who can and should have their portrait taken has been hotly debated and has changed significantly over centuries and millennia."

Our private tour starts at 10:30am and should last about 50 minutes but will likely go slightly longer.

Meeting Place: The docent will meet us in the West Building lobby (the newer building), I will be near the lockers.

Parking: The museum has two parking lots; you can go left or right when you enter the main entrance. If you go left, it will take you around the museum, and you will walk to the West Building. If you make a right, that parking lot will have a pathway down to the West Building. Whichever lot you choose, give yourself plenty of time to park and walk to the museum.
Accessible spots are located just outside of the East Building, adjacent to Gipson Plaza.

I hope you can make it :-)

If your plans change, remember to update your RSVP at least 24 hours before the start time of the event so that someone else can attend.
