Details

Starting at Sorrento Ocean Beach carpark, this walk continues through the vegetation above the car park and beach via Coppins Lookout. We will then follow the main track past the lookout descending the stairs to the eastern end of Portsea Surf Beach and along a long stretch of beach to London Bridge Lookout. We will then head up to and long Wilsons Folly Walking Track and come out into Defense Road where we will continue to Quarantine Station and to Fort Nepean where we will stop for lunch. Depending on the tide, heading back, we will then walk along Port Phillip Bay Coastal Reserve through to Millionaires Walk, Sorrento Village before returning to the carpark at Sorrento Ocean Beach.

Note that this is a long hard walk mostly on sand. It is not a good idea to sign up for it if you have difficulty walking long stretches of sand or have an event to attend to that evening.

Please do not RSVP to any Eastern Hiking & Adventure event unless you are fully committed to attending. It is your responsibility to check the date, distance, and difficulty of the walk before RSVPing. Members who frequently withdraw at the last minute, fail to show up, arrive without being on the "going" list, or behave disrespectfully towards leaders or fellow members will be asked to leave the walk and may be removed from the group. All leaders are unpaid volunteers who invest a great deal of their own time to plan and research each walk. Their efforts deserve respect and consideration. Organisers do their best to minimise waitlists where possible, and priority will be given to reliable members who attend regularly and contribute positively to the group experience.
