🥾Forest Park🌲All Trails Challenge - 2025🐇
📜 Welp! If you survived the last one…. Maybe I’ll get you this time! This will be the first of three times starting from NW Saltzman Rd. and the first of the hikes in the series (but def. not the last) that breaks 10miles. Our reprieve won’t come until the last of this trio. Still, we will press on.
We will be walking up towards the relatively level NW Leif Erickson Drive and heading SE where we will be experiencing multiple loops and out and backs. The highlight and likely lunch break spot with be atop of Firelane 2. On our return we will be taking a different and no less convoluted path back to our starting point. This one definitely packs a punch!
This is hike #05 in a series of 13 hikes that cover the entire 80+ miles of trails in Forest Park. Because not all of the trails can be done as independent loops (and we will be doubling over our path at times) it will require hiking more than 120 miles to complete the entire challenge. If you miss a hike, no worries, we have this series twice a year and makeup hikes can be arranged.
💪🏽 This is NOT a beginner friendly hike, as we will be keeping a decent pace of an average of 2.7mph (or greater!) throughout, could be slightly faster/slower depending on groups’ abilities. I try to go as fast as the slowest person will allow me. These are not good hikes to learn what your pace is.
This can be difficult for some that have sedentary lifestyles, so please don’t be discouraged if at first you don’t succeed, just try try try again.
🚗🚙 Since this is in town, I will not be carpooling myself, but if you wish to do so please organize that on your own in the Event Comments section.
For those who want to carpool, just know that you should be prepared to drive or take public transit.
🅿️ There are no fees at this location, though space is limited. The address given is for location purposes only. Trailhead is at the end of Lower Saltzman Rd. (Off on NW Saint Helens rd/Hwy 30).
Some choose to park at the bottom of Saltzman Rd and Hwy 30 next to Anderson Roofing and walk the .7 mile up to the trailhead. If you do, please arrive early enough to account for the walk (10/15min).
