Big Data Development

Details

In our next meetup we will take a break from our Architecture & Technology sessions to provide a special session, in collaboration with the Australasian Software Engineering Conference (http://www.aswec2015.org/), to hear about some key factors relating to Big Data System/Application Development.

Roger Nobel, CTO at Adelaide based Coritsu Group will be joining us to present Zegami, a web based data visualisation tool for large collections of images and the lessons learnt from developing a large scale application.

Professor Ali Babar will be presenting on Architectural Knowledge for Designing and Evolving Big Data Applications. This will cover the importance and mechanisms of building and leveraging architectural knowledge for designing and evolving data intensive applications. It will also address the core issues that designers need to consider while designing data intensive applications and the support infrastructure required for developing competency in software design for data intensive applications.

We are also fortunate to have Professor Shazia Sadiq from the University of Queensland to present a lightening talk on Quality issues in Big Data. Professor Shazia Sadiq is a board member of the Asia Pacific Chapter of the The International Association of Information and Data Quality and thus brings a wealth of knowledge in this area.

Many thanks to The University of Adelaide for hosting us for this event and many thanks to BAE SYSTEMS for sponsoring this event. Please RSVP for this event so we are able to cater appropriately.

Thanks.
