Online services are essential to personal and professional life. But which of these tools can be relied upon to keep your work and communication safe? How private is "private"?

This talk covers the privacy implications and risks of popular online services (such as Slack or HipChat), explores the different philosophies these services have towards user data and privacy (e.g. zero-knowledge), and offers practical advice on making informed choices when assessing these applications.

Cade Diehm (https://twitter.com/helveticade) is a designer & researcher who focuses on emergent technology, privacy, user empowerment, and online identity. He has led projects in Australia, Singapore, Japan and the US. He currently serves as Design Lead at SpiderOak, working on privacy tools for humans.

Bring your PGP key (or it's fingerprint) along and we help verify each other's public key. Fun and a lot of signed keys will be guaranteed!

Pre-requisites: PGP software installed and a valid PGP key-pair
