We are kicking off the 2026 snow season with a weekend trip to Mount Hotham to celebrate the Solstice and enjoy great food and company. Let it snow! ❄

Staying at B’rush Ski Club: located in the heart of Davenport Village at Mt Hotham. This modern, comfortable lodge has everything you need, including open fireplace with self-catering facilities, lots of comfy areas to chill out and a sauna and outdoor spa for perfect apres-ski relax!

Skill Level: **This is NOT a trip for absolute beginners. **
Participants should have experience skiing easy cross-country trails.

Saturday Night

POTLUCK + Murder mystery night !

Saturday night dinner is a Potluck party: This means you supply a dish to share or in-kind contribution of around $10-$20 value. Some prepare their favourite curry, a hearty stew or pasta - others may supply dessert, or an antipasto/cheese platter as entree. Let the organisers, Kim and Mark know what you're planning to bring along - savoury or sweet.

Over dinner there will be a murder theme!!
Our ski chalet will be ‘snowed in’ and there will be a murder which needs to be solved. You will each be given your character before Saturday night's potluck dinner.

Accommodation and Lodge info
BYO linen and towels - NO SLEEPING BAGS. Linen hire is available.

You must supply your own bed linen and towels. You will require pillowcases and 2 sheets or a sheet and doona cover for standard size single and/or double beds.

Continental breakfast
The lodge provides a continental breakfast between 7:00 – 9:30 am.

BYO for lunch and dinner.
A wide range of restaurants and bars are available on the mountain. Several great restaurants are only a short walk from the lodge.
If you don’t wish to dine out for meals, you will need to bring your own food for lunch and dinner. They supply fridges and drawers labelled with your room number for storage of your food and beverage. A freezer is available.

**For meals other than breakfast, please supply your own bread, milk and juice.

We have a Nespresso machine & coffee plunger; however, they ask that guests supply their own pods and ground coffee.

Spa and Sauna
Enjoy their relaxing outdoor spa overlooking the stunning Dargo high plains available in the afternoon until 10:00pm. The sauna located inside, near the spa, is available at any time. The lodge manager maintains and tests the spa water regularly. Don’t forget your togs!

Getting there & Transport
Transport to and from Mt Hotham: Carpooling is organised a week before the trip.

Travel Time: It takes approximately 5 to 6 hours to get to Mt Hotham, so people generally plan to leave Melbourne by 5.00pm. In the past, we have found most drivers will take the whole or half-day off work on Friday. If you are not driving, you will have to take this into consideration when carpooling because it is your responsibility to get to the driver's location. On Sunday, most people leave Mt Hotham by 3.00pm to head back to Melbourne.

Drivers: Carrying chains is compulsory and they must be fitted where directed. The speed limit through Hotham Village is 40km and speed cameras may be in operation.

Equipment & Safety
Chain hire: Available at Ray's in Myrtleford or Hoys at Harrietville.

Ski gear hire: Cross country skis can be hired from Ray's Ski Shop in Myrtleford or Hoys at Mt Hotham. Ask for metal edge cross country skis, with a pattern base. And we recommend contacting Rays or Hoys in advance to book your skis.

Insurance: Ambulance cover is strongly recommended as private health insurance often only covers emergency transport when the siren is on.
