What we’re about
Primarily a hiking group, but open to all kinds of endurance fun — running, biking, and more. Whether you're just starting out or an ultra-experienced athlete, all shapes, sizes, and experience levels are welcome! Most of our hikes are based in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) or the Palatinate Forest (Pfälzerwald) regions, with the occasional adventure to the Bavarian Alps.

See all- Hike to Château fort de FleckensteinNeustadt an der Weinstraße - In front of the main station, Neustadt an der Weinstraße
This is a 10.4-mile hike that crosses the German-French border multiple times. We’ll begin our hike on the French side, occasionally step into Germany along the way, and finally end up back in France. You can view the route here:
https://www.komoot.com/tour/2329985195Our meeting point is Neustadt (Weinstr.) Hauptbahnhof, where we'll catch the 7:36 AM train to Wissembourg. Just after reaching the Wissembourg station, there’s a charming bakery (fingers crossed it’s open!) where we can grab some delicious French treats—my personal favorite is the éclair—before we begin the hike.
At a relaxed pace, the route should take about five hours to complete. Once we reach the castle, we’ll take a short tour to enjoy the views, have a nice meal at the restaurant, and then catch the bus back to Wissembourg station. You can find bus schedules here:
https://www.fleckenstein.fr/en/access-bus/After that, we’ll take the train back home.
