Welcome to **Enterprise UX Canberra**. With our next meetup just around the corner, excited to announce our joint speakers **Bri Norton**, Digital Strategist and User Experience and Accessibility specialist and **Adam Cooper** who has been in and out of the digital accessibility space for the past 19 years. They will be talking about "**Embedding accessibility throughout the product development process."**

To ensure the 'shift-left' of accessibility the **focus is how to involve people with disability earlier in a project process** rather than testing for accessibility but it's still important to assess how the project is tracking in the early phases of the lifecycle.

The use of Government and organisation standards are now becoming more available for project teams to embed accessibility into the project lifecycle to ensure they are developing inclusive products and services.

This session will discuss the results of a workshop held at the Perth Web Accessibility Camp (PWAC) which crowd sourced guidance on how to assess accessibility during the different project phases.

Bri is a Digital Strategist and User Experience and Accessibility specialist based in Canberra and has previously been an Accessibility Lead for Australian Federal and State Governments. 

Bri has co-developed inclusive research workshops to share how to include accessibility earlier in the project lifecycle which includes engaging with people with disability as part of inclusive research activities. 

Bri is the co-chair for [OZeWAI.org](https://ozewai.org) Australia’s Web Accessibility Initiative, a Standards Australian Accessible ICT Procurement Committee Member and a member of the [ResearchOps.Community](https://researchops.community) Cheese Board.

Adam worked for Vision Australia and the Victorian Office for Disability in a variety of capacities including assistive technology skills training, sales, and support, and digital access technology and policy. Since 2012, Adam has worked with private organisations and various government agencies delivering accessible digital solutions, education and awareness, and managerial and strategic consulting. 
 
Adam has a broad range of skills and experience across information technology and organisational development including business analysis, project management, user research, skills training, quality assurance and testing, and user interface design and development. 

Until August 2021, Adam was the lead Digital Accessibility Consultant with NDIA.  He is currently taking a break from full time engagements to care for his elderly mother and renovate his house.
