There are hikers, and then there are hiking nurds that love it so much they make a website documenting their hikes with pics and maps and directions to share with the internet world. When those hiking nurds utter the words above? You've gotta respect their opinion... then you've gotta hike the hike. Let's do it.

SPION KOP. THE HIKE.
I can't write too much about this hike cause I've never done it. But the caves, the views, the bush, the coast... it looks beautiful. Not too far is my personal favourite from 2024, MacMaster's Beach to Hardy's Hideaway - so the terrain must be similar and stunning.

The full hike is "Point Clare Station to Spion Kop to Woy Woy (The Bayview Hotel)". It's meant to be a challening hike - 14.5kms from the map. And the beauty is it's a station to station hike which will suit drivers and public transporters alike.

THE OTHER STUFF.
a) Don’t be late.
b) The cost. The hike is $10. Cash or PayID.
c) Honour Your RSVP. No shows on days like these are… well, not on at all. It's anti-social. You’ll be nudged out of the group.
d) Fitness. Fitness matters. There will be ups. Downs. Trail. Rocks. This is proper hiking. Pack water and snacks and some First Aid stuff that you might require.
e) Transport. Central Station to Point Clare leaves at 848am, and it arrives 1011am. Quick coffee / piss break to start, and off we go. Driving? Woy Woy has plenty of free parking, then jump on the 1003am Woy Woy train to join the rest of the group... easy hike back to your car at the end.
f) The Bayview Hotel. Last time up this way, we had some balcony drinks here. It's a lovely spot to "Cheers" after a challenging hike, and it's steps from the Woy Woy train station.
