Join us for an attractive, moderate hike around Jalon, perfect for those looking to catch a glimpse of the Marina Alta. As always, we’ll add a little adventurous twist. Please note that the meet point is different from previous years due to parking difficulties near the Rastro site on a Saturday — allow plenty of time to park in town before meeting on foot outside the medical centre, from where we will depart.
From our meeting point, we’ll hike through the vineyards and woods of the lower Jalon Valley before ascending Barranco Negro to Penya Talai, where we’ll pause for a picnic snack. The descent follows attractive zigzag Mozarabic paths towards Alcalalí, and then we’ll return along the ‘pipeline track’ on lower ground back to Jalon. This hike offers amazing views across the Val de Pop and showcases some of the most picturesque scenery of the Costa Blanca.

Únete a nosotros en una caminata moderada y atractiva alrededor de Jalón, ideal para quienes quieran disfrutar de una vista de la Marina Alta. Como siempre, añadiremos un toque aventurero. Ten en cuenta que el punto de encuentro es diferente de años anteriores debido a la dificultad de aparcamiento cerca del Rastro un sábado — permite suficiente tiempo para aparcar en el pueblo antes de encontrarnos a pie fuera del centro médico, desde donde comenzaremos la caminata.
Desde nuestro punto de encuentro, caminaremos por los viñedos y bosques del bajo Valle de Jalón antes de ascender por el Barranco Negro hasta Penya Talai, donde haremos una pausa para un picnic. El descenso sigue atractivos caminos mozárabes en zigzag hacia Alcalalí, y luego regresaremos por el ‘camino del acueducto/pipeline track’ hacia Jalón. Esta ruta ofrece vistas impresionantes del Val de Pop y muestra algunos de los paisajes más pintorescos de la Costa Blanca.

Thanks to Annabelle, we have this little gem of a route!
If you enjoy a good scramble, or you’ve always wanted to try scrambling, this is the perfect event for you. After an easy 6 km hike, we’ll reach the lowest point of the Barranc de Galitero, where the adventure begins. Each section of the route sees us ascending through the barranc, presenting several walls to scramble up — each seemingly increasing in difficulty but always with the option to walk around, making it great for everyone to give it a go.
After reaching the final dam, we’ll hike back to the start, where a rewarding caña or two awaits!

As this route involves sections of scrambling, we recommend wearing a helmet for extra safety.

Si disfrutas de una buena trepada o siempre has querido probar el scrambling, este evento es perfecto para ti. Tras una caminata fácil de 6 km, llegaremos al punto más bajo del Barranc de Galitero, donde comienza la aventura. Cada sección de la ruta nos lleva a ascender por el barranco, con varios muros para trepar — cada uno aparentemente más difícil, pero siempre con la opción de rodearlo, ¡lo que lo hace ideal para que todos lo intenten!
Después de llegar a la presa final, regresaremos al inicio, donde nos espera una caña o dos de recompensa.

Como esta ruta incluye tramos de trepada, recomendamos llevar casco por seguridad.

The only drawback is an 8€ usage fee, which is why we've waived the event fee for this particular occasion. Although we'll be utilizing some essential gear (tandem pulleys), the usual event fee supports equipment purchases. Feel free to contribute with a donation if you're inclined to do so. Join us for a morning of fun – this event is suitable for everyone with the right experience or training.

Aunque utilizaremos parte del equipo necesario (poleas tándem), la tarifa del evento habitual respalda las compras de equipo. Si te sientes inclinado, siéntete libre de contribuir con una donación. Únete a nosotros para una mañana divertida; este evento es adecuado para todos con la experiencia o entrenamiento adecuados.

Barranco del Fraimó is a vertical, semi-dry canyon located near the village of Sella, Alicante. The descent features 7 main rappels, with the longest measuring 46 meters. Some sections have minor pools that may form in wet conditions, but generally, it’s a dry descent—perfect for wearing shorts and bringing a towel just in case. The approach takes approximately 20–30 minutes with a two-car shuttle (or up to 1.5–2 hours for a single-car strategy), and the descent lasts around 2–3 hours. The return is straightforward, taking roughly 20–30 minutes.

Jota’s Take: It’s been a while since I did this canyon with Hajni, Sazbi, and Dan, so I can’t remember too much—which can only mean it’s really good! Even better, it’s so close to Sella that we can climb afterwards—don’t forget cool boxes and beers. Adventure followed by a chill finish!

El Barranco del Fraimó es un cañón vertical y semi-seco situado cerca del pueblo de Sella, en Alicante. El descenso incluye 7 rápeles principales, siendo el más largo de 46 metros. Algunas secciones pueden presentar pozas menores en condiciones de lluvia, pero por lo general es un descenso seco; ideal para llevar pantalones cortos y una toalla por si acaso. La aproximación dura aproximadamente 20–30 minutos con un sistema de dos coches (o hasta 1,5–2 horas con un solo coche), y el descenso toma alrededor de 2–3 horas. El regreso es sencillo, tomando aproximadamente 20–30 minutos.

La Opinión de Jota: Hace tiempo que no hago este barranco con Hajni, Sazbi y Dan, así que no recuerdo demasiado, ¡lo que solo puede significar que es realmente bueno! Además, está tan cerca de Sella que podemos escalar después—no olvides traer neveras y cervezas. ¡Aventura seguida de un final relajado!
