What better way to unwind from your week and usher in your TGIF then to come out to conjur up the Island Vibes of Hawaii through Music, Dance, and beholding the beauty and fragance of Plumerias! Come celebrate all things plumeria at the LA Arborteums grove on Tallac Knoll. Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden is a unique 127-acre botanical garden and historical site located in what was the heart of the historic Rancho Santa Anita in the city of Arcadia. Feast your eyes and soul on the stunning range of Plumeria varieties. With more than 100 trees, the Arboretum has the largest public collection in the western continental United States. Join the celebration, along with an option to shop plumeria and other exotic plants if you choose to.
Update: Regrettably there will be no Tour Guides or Tram Tours made available for this date. Hearing the history does enhance the whole experience as they point out the various gardens and what Country the plants originated from, as well as sharing the fascinating history and long impressive list of movies that have been filmed there going back decades! I encourage everyone to go their website and read the up on their history in advance. It will enrich your experience trust me!

But wait! There is more! There will be live music and dance performance throughout the event! Last year we were treated to a Hawaiian Band and Hula Dancers! And there will be 6 Food Trucks to pick from. NOTE: They DO NOT allow outside Food. Water bottles & beverages allowed in. The picnic tables fill up fast. No guarantee we will snag one. Suggest bringing a folding lawn chair for when we are taking in the performances. We will set up to claim a spot and then feast our eyes on all we have the endurance to take in on a walk into the Gardens. This will be an individual decision, i.e you can walk into the Gardens as little or as far as is comfortable for you. We will rendevous to meet back to where our chairs are set up. Also if it is one of those hotter days suggest a sun umbrella as well. And good walking shoes. The distance to the Plumeria Gardens is between 1/2-1 mile. Estimate about a 15 minute walk. It is optional.

- Ticketing: This is a Ticket for your self meetup event. General Admission Ticket gets you in to the Plumeria Festival no additional cost or ticketing required. All meetup RSVP Rules Apply. This event will need a minimum of 4 RSVP,s that are confirmed as ticketed in order for the Meetup to take place. Otherwise it will be cancelled as a Meetup. Aloha hui ho!

For your safety From their Website:
Keep a distance of 10 feet from peafowl. Do NOT feed, touch or chase any wildlife in the Arboretum’s natural habitat. Please show respect and caution in the vicinity of the wild animals.
Getting There: I encourage car pools. Up to you to reach out to inquire among the rsvp's. They have available parking adjacent to the Gardens no charge. The Arboretum is located in the city of Arcadia, just east of Pasadena and across the street from Santa Anita Park. We are easy to reach by car or public transportation. We are located at 301 North Baldwin Avenue.
Garden Etiquette & Rules
The LA Arboretum is a museum of living plants and welcomes visitors to make their experience enjoyable, interesting, and memorable. During a visit we ask guests to be good stewards of our plants, wildlife, and historic structures to protect them for future generations to enjoy. While at the Arboretum, we ask that guests please observe the following:
- Do not collect, remove, or damage any natural materials including seeds, flowers, fruits, feathers, plant labels or other garden materials.
- Climbing trees or swimming in water features is not permitted.
- No Smoking in the Arboretum or LA County grounds. Smoking/vaping is not permitted in the gardens.
- Recreational equipment such as bicycles, skateboards, scooters, sports equipment, barbeques, radios, instruments, lawn chairs and coolers are not permitted. (PLEASE NOTE: I called for clarification and a staff member, Tucker, confirmed that this is not enforced so yes to lawn chairs).
- No Balloons or flying drones in the gardens. No remote control toys or large toys in general.
- No balls, buckets, baskets, shovels, bubbles, etc. Anything that can harm the plants or animals or items that are being used to carry out materials from the garden are not permitted.
- Musical instruments are not permitted. Music in general should be listened to with headphones, not on speakers or phones at a loud volume. We want to encourage a peaceful environment where all guests can enjoy nature without the distraction of other guests’ music.
