🌿 RSVP & Attendance Policy
Find Your Tribe is built on genuine connections, mutual respect and showing up for one another.

Our events are free to attend, but places are sometimes limited, and considerable time and effort goes into organising them.

❤️ Please RSVP responsibly. Only reserve a place if you genuinely intend to attend.

❤️ Plans change! If you can no longer make it, please update your RSVP as soon as possible, ideally at least 24 hours beforehand, so someone else has the opportunity to join.

❤️ Three strikes and you're out. Three no-shows without cancelling will result in permanent removal from the group. Strikes do not expire, and individual warnings will not be issued. Genuine emergencies will be considered.

❤️ Restaurant deposits. Some events require a deposit, either €10 credited towards your food/drinks or an amount determined by the venue's cancellation policy. This helps protect our relationships with venues and ensures we can continue hosting events there.

There's no pressure to attend every event — just respect the commitment when you do RSVP. 🌸

Sintra to Cabo da Roca | Coastal & Forest Hike + Atlantic Sunset 🌅
Saturday 14 November 2026
⚠️ IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE RSVP'ING

This is an 18.3 km full-day hike with approximately 480–500 m of elevation gain in our planned direction. It is NOT suitable for beginners.

Participants must have previous hiking experience, good cardiovascular fitness and the stamina to maintain a steady group pace over challenging terrain.

We have a strict daylight schedule. Our aim is to reach Cabo da Roca approximately one hour before sunset, allowing everyone to enjoy the spectacular Atlantic views and watch the sun go down.

To achieve this, we'll need to maintain our planned walking pace. We cannot significantly slow down or delay the entire group to accommodate participants who are unprepared for the hike.

Not ready for the full 18 km? There's an option to finish in Colares after approximately 10 km and enjoy lunch with the group before heading home independently.

Please read the full event description, including the fitness requirements, meeting arrangements and group safety policy, before reserving your place.

🌊 About the Hike
Join us for a spectacular full-day adventure through the magical landscapes of Sintra, finishing with an unforgettable Atlantic sunset at Cabo da Roca — the westernmost point of mainland Europe.

Starting in Sintra, we'll make our way through peaceful woodland trails and historic landscapes towards the charming village of Colares, where we'll stop for a leisurely Portuguese lunch.

After lunch, the scenery transforms as we head towards the wild Atlantic coastline, following dramatic coastal trails past Praia da Adraga, Miradouro da Praia do Caneiro and the breathtaking viewpoints overlooking Praia da Ursa.

Our final destination is Cabo da Roca, where we'll gather to watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean — a spectacular reward after a day of hiking!

This varied point-to-point adventure combines lush forests, traditional villages, rugged coastal scenery and panoramic ocean views.

New to Find Your Tribe? You're very welcome! You don't need to have hiked with us before, but you do need previous hiking experience and an appropriate level of fitness.

⚠️ Group Pace, Safety & Responsibilities
Our hikes are social and welcoming, but they are also physically demanding outdoor activities.

Fitness & experience: Participants are responsible for assessing their own ability to complete the advertised distance, elevation and terrain.
Pre-hike briefing: At the start of each hike, participants will be asked to privately raise any concerns about their hiking experience, fitness or health that could affect their ability to complete the route safely. You do not need to disclose private medical details to the group.
Group pace: We maintain a steady pace with regular planned breaks. Participants are expected to keep up with the group without requiring frequent or extended stops.
Daylight deadline: The coastal section must be completed safely before darkness. If the group falls behind schedule, the organiser may shorten or change the route rather than continue along exposed cliff paths in fading light.
Unable to continue: If a participant consistently struggles to maintain the pace or finds the hike beyond their abilities, they may be advised to withdraw at a safe exit point and arrange their own onward transport, including a taxi where accessible.
Early departure: Participants are responsible for the cost of their onward transport. Any early exit must be assessed for safety, and transport cannot be guaranteed on remote sections of the route.
Group consideration: We cannot significantly delay the entire group to accommodate participants whose fitness or experience does not meet the advertised requirements.
Organiser discretion: The organiser reserves the right to decline participation before departure where there are reasonable safety concerns about a participant's preparedness, equipment or ability to complete the route.
Personal responsibility: Participants are responsible for their own safety, wellbeing and personal belongings. The organiser is a volunteer host, not a professional hiking guide.
Route changes: Routes and timings may be adjusted due to weather, terrain or safety considerations. The exposed coastal section may be avoided if conditions are unsafe.
Safety always comes first. Anyone who becomes injured, unwell or unable to continue safely will be assisted in identifying an appropriate and safe course of action.
Please be considerate of your fellow hikers. Joining a hike beyond your current abilities can affect both your own safety and the experience of the wider group.

🍽️ Lunch & Refreshments
We'll stop for a two-hour restaurant lunch in Colares, from approximately 12:00–2:00 pm.

The restaurant will be confirmed nearer the event, subject to availability.
If you'd prefer to bring a packed lunch, you're welcome to do so, although you'll need to make your own arrangements during the restaurant stop.

Everyone is responsible for their own food, drinks and transport costs.

🐾 Dog Policy
Well-behaved, sociable dogs may be welcome on selected hikes, subject to prior approval.

  • Maximum one dog per hike, including the organiser's dog, on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Please contact the organiser before bringing your dog.
  • Dogs must be capable of completing the advertised distance, elevation and terrain.
  • Dogs must be kept under control and on a lead when necessary, particularly around livestock, wildlife and exposed cliff paths.
  • Owners are responsible for their dog's safety, behaviour, food, water and waste.

🚆 Public Transport & Dogs
Dogs travelling outside a carrier on CP trains must wear a muzzle, be kept on a short lead and have up-to-date vaccination documentation. Lisbon urban trains allow eligible dogs to travel free of charge.
Buses generally require dogs to travel in an appropriate carrier, so this hike may not be suitable for dogs travelling on public transport.
Approval depends on the route, terrain and transport arrangements. Please check with the organiser before attending with your dog.

✅ Before You RSVP
By reserving your place, you confirm that:

  • You've read and understood the full event description.
  • You have the hiking experience and fitness required for your chosen distance.
  • You're comfortable with the terrain and planned group pace.
  • You'll arrive on time with appropriate footwear, water and supplies.
  • You understand the daylight constraints and group safety policy.
  • You'll arrange your own onward transport if finishing early in Colares.

We're looking forward to another spectacular adventure — from the forests of Sintra to an unforgettable Atlantic sunset! 🌲🌊🌅
