1. When it comes to hospitality or chores at home, do you naturally relate more to Mary or Martha? Why?
2. Have you ever felt underappreciated for your work or service—like Martha in the kitchen? What happened and how did you respond?
3. Can you remember a time when someone broke social expectations in a way that challenged or inspired you?

4. Read Luke 10:38–42. What stands out to you in Jesus’ response to Martha? What might surprise you about his words?
5. How do the actions of Mary challenge the social and religious norms of her day?
