Micco Bluffs 12 Miles (Small Group Hike)
Details
THIS HIKE IS ONLY FOR EXPERIENCED HIKERS that have been hiking 10+ miles on a regular basis. It is going to be physically challenging, but a lot of fun too.
NOTE: This will be a small group event, limited to 10 hikers. Due to the strenuous nature of the hike, please do not sign up if you are not physically fit to hike the entire 12 miles. There are no opportunities to exit the hike early. If you want to bring a buddy, they will have to register on Meetup and RSVP separately. No add-ons, please.
We will be hiking at a moderate pace, stopping along the way and will take our main break half-way to cool down and have a snack. After the break, we continue hiking on our way back to our cars. (If you are looking for a fast hike, this hike is not for you.)
Let's meet at 7:00 AM at the Micco Bluff Trailhead off US-98. We will start hiking no later than 7:30 AM.
Items to bring:
Water - 3 liters
Walking stick
Hat
Snacks
Bug spray
Sunscreen
Extra pair of shoes (after hike)
Can do attitude! :)
Wear something bright, since this is an active hunting area. No facilities at either of the trailheads.
Please note that we will have to shuttle everyone in as few vehicles as possible to our starting point at the Florida Trail Oak Creek Trailhead off Micco Road (CR-68). We will need everyone to help with the shuttling.
