Grassy Waters Preserve, serving as the city of West Palm Beach and its surrounding municipalities’ freshwater supply, offers a delightful 5.5-mile hike on three distinct trails, complemented by a scenic boardwalk across the road. All trails are dry, making them suitable for sneakers.

Let’s gather in the rear parking lot near Gator Lake, located on the north side of Northlake Blvd., at 9:30 AM. We’ll embark on a medium-paced hike along three different trails. After our hike, we’ll drive our cars across the road to explore the Cypress Boardwalk and the Nature Center.

The Cypress Boardwalk meanders through the Marsh and Cypress Swamps, providing a picturesque setting. Along the Boardwalk Trail, you’ll find Chickee Huts, Benches, and even charming Rocking Chairs. Wildlife is abundant, and the scenery is simply breathtaking. Restrooms and water are conveniently available at the parking lot at both locations.

For those using GPS, the Hog Hammond Trail is located at 8537 Northlake Blvd., 33412.
