## Overview
This is a stunning winter coastal hike along one of the most beautiful and iconic walking routes in England.
Starting from Seaford, we’ll follow the dramatic Seven Sisters coastal path, walking high above the sea on rolling chalk cliffs, with uninterrupted views of the English Channel. The trail takes us through open downland, sweeping ridges, and steep but rewarding climbs before reaching Birling Gap, one of the South Coast’s most striking natural landmarks.
Expect:
- Spectacular clifftop views throughout
- Rolling chalk hills with constant sea vistas
- Fresh coastal air and wide open landscapes
- A real sense of space, movement, and adventure
This is not a casual walk — it’s a proper coastal hike that rewards effort with big scenery.
This route is exposed and weather-dependent, especially in winter:
- Chalk paths can be slippery when wet or frosty
- Strong coastal winds are common
- Temperatures can feel colder due to wind chill
👉 Proper hiking boots with good grip are essential
👉 Trainers or casual footwear are not suitable
👉 Dress in layers and bring windproof & waterproof clothing
If you are unsure about winter hiking conditions, please consider carefully before joining.

We’ll stop for lunch along the route (likely near Birling Gap or a sheltered spot).
Bring a packed lunch — cafés may be busy or closed.
Pace:
Steady and continuous, with short regrouping stops after climbs.
If you require frequent or long breaks, this may not be the right event.
