It is a Bank Holiday !!

This is going to be a 17 km approx., hike to Seven Sisters and some forests around. I am going to take you through a variety of beautiful and pleasurable spots so do not miss it.

One of the most iconic landmarks in Sussex, the Seven Sisters is a series of chalk cliffs. Seven Sisters Country Park is named after the famous Seven Sisters chalk cliffs that form part of the Sussex Heritage Coast. It is a popular location for locals and international visitors who come to experience this magnificent stretch of coastline between Seaford and Eastbourne. It is a haven for wildlife, especially migratory birds.

There will be hills but you would be rewarded with some mesmerisingly beautiful views. Please bear in mind there are going to be hills in this walk so be prepared. I will try to give sufficient time for photo opportunities but remember we are doing a hike. We can go to a pub after /around the end of the hike for a well deserved pint or / and a swim.

If you are coming by public transport - take a train to Eastbourne Station and then go to Gildredge Road (Stop F) to take bus number 12X Coaster towards Brighton and get down at East Dean Garage and walk towards BN20 0AB which may be about 15 to 20 mins walk. There are also some direct buses from Eastbourne which will drop you very close to Birling Gap Cafe (use the postcode to plan your travel). If you think it will be too much traveling for you then I can help you with a lift if you are willing to come to Three Bridges Station at a specified time and I shall drop you back there at the end of the event. You can send me a message however, I may give priority to those who have been to my hikes before.

By Car - There is a National Trust paid car park at the start of the hike around BN20 0AB, with toilets and a cafe.

Meeting point - at 11am outside the cafe at Birling Gap (BN20 0AB).

The walk is completely free. The walk leader will guide you through the route. You need good hiking shoes, 2 litres of water, a packed lunch, and a good spirit.

Please note - The participants are expected to stay with or behind the hike / walk leader and not go ahead of him as this is important to maintain the pace of the group and keep the group together and to allow people behind to catch up.

You are responsible for your own safety and for making sure that your actions don’t damage the people, animals, or environment around you. This is wholly a voluntary activity. No service/risk is inferred or accepted.

Please be respectful to fellow walkers.

Please make sure to read the about us section of the group before signing up for the events. https://www.meetup.com/free-hiking-outdoor-fitness-and-social-activities

At the end of the walk, we can go to a pub nearby.
