Portland Area Freethought Group is a community of like-minded individuals who come together to discuss and explore topics related to reason, science, skepticism, and humanism. Our group is open to anyone who values critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and evidence-based reasoning. Whether you're an atheist, agnostic, humanist, or simply interested in exploring different perspectives, you're welcome to join our friendly and thought-provoking discussions. So come share your ideas, learn from others, and connect with fellow freethinkers in the Portland area!
Discussion Groups: Our monthly discussions cover topics such as: current events, science, local events and happenings, government, philosophy, politics, economics, world affairs, religion, technology and art.
Non-Fiction Book Club: Each month the group will choose a non-fiction book to read and discuss.
Other: The group may attend local events regarding: building communities, climate change, politics, and even volunteering opportunities.

Through community and neighborhood trash clean-up events, RUBBISH sparks conversation and engagement around avoiding single-use plastic, rethinking our waste stream, and the connection between the trash on our streets and the well-known issue of marine plastic pollution.
Come join us for a community trash clean-up, get your trash on, and enjoy a social gathering. And as always - you can win some pretty amazing raffle prizes too! BYO mug for coffee!

- 9-9:30am: Sign in at the Rubbish table
- 9:30-10:30: Community trash clean-up around the neighborhood
(bags, buckets, and grabbers provided. BYO gloves and/or clean-up supplies if you have them!) - 10:30: A sweet raffle from your favorite local businesses!
- Coffee, pastries, social time! 🙂
