Crane Brook Bog Pond

Let's hike out to the western edge of the forest from the Equestrian Lot. We won't do the usual loop. We will hike out on Halfway Pond Road to the Crane Brook Bog Pond. It is a pretty pond. The pond is about 2 miles from the start, so this will be a 4-5 mile hike.
The DCR did some forest thinning in the area of West Line Road and Halfway Pond Road that I want to check out.
It is hunting season, so wearing blaze orange is alway a good idea. We will be away from the areas of the forest stocked for bird hunters. It is still archery season for deer hunters but we make a lot of noise and scare them away.
Bring water and snacks and wear good hiking shoes.
