# 🧗‍♂️ Mount Saint Helena – Near Side + Blind Man’s Bluff Climbing Day
Let’s kick off the season with a fun day of roped climbing at Mount Saint Helena! We’ll be climbing at the Near Side and optionally checking out Blind Man’s Bluff depending on group interest and energy.

Meet at: 8:00 AM Location: Robert Louis Stevenson Trailhead Parking Lot Coordinates: 38.652734, -122.599728
We’ll do a quick gear check and start hiking by 8:10 AM. If you arrive late, head directly to the Near Side area using the Mountain Project link above.
⚠️ Parking is limited. Some roadside parking is available—pull fully off the road. Cell reception is spotty until you’re above the trees.

Routes across both areas range from 5.4 to 5.11, with a mix of sport, trad, and top‑rope options.
# 🎒 What to Bring

- Harness, shoes, belay device, helmet
- Water + food
- A good attitude and energy for a full day outside
### Nice to Have
- Rope
- Anchor materials / slings
- Quickdraws or trad gear if you plan to lead
- Sun protection (the Near Side can get warm)
### Guests:
You can bring 1 guest provided they have a rope, quickdraws etc

- Proper technique and safety gear reduce—but do not eliminate—risk.
- Hazards may include falls, loose rock, falling climbers, belay errors, poison oak, ticks, wildlife, heat, wind, cold, lightning, and road traffic.
- You are solely responsible for your own safety and choosing which routes or activities to participate in.
- Emergency response may be delayed due to limited cell service, remote terrain, and access challenges.
- You affirm you are medically fit for hiking and climbing.
- You agree not to hold GYCO, organizers, or participants liable for injuries, illness, or damages, including those resulting from simple negligence.
- You understand this is not a guided trip, and no organizer is acting as a professional guide, EMT, or first responder.
- Rain within 24 hours cancels the event.
