As well as Jason, Sean Edwards will be discussing the challenges of integrating Occulus Rift support into his Steam game, Lunar Flight. The game will be playable at the meetup!

We'll kick off at 5pm so everyone has time to mingle , eat pizza and have some drinks before the speakers take the stage.

Here are the details on what Jason will be taling about:

Scrum, delivering games from concept to submission

Game development is a complex beast and over the course of the past five years, Halfbrick Studios have been using Scrum to facilitate the game development process from green light right through to submission. With smash hit titles like Fruit Ninja & Jetpack Joyride credited to their library of games, Halfbrick have gone from a local independent to internationally respected developers seemingly overnight.

Jason will take us through his time at Halfbrick focusing on how his team have adapted Scrum over the past five years to suit the games that they develop. Considering that some games take 12-18 months (or more) to complete and others take 2-3 months to complete, we found that there were some very important modifications that we had to make to Scrum so that the process suited the length of the development cycle… and not the other way around. What have Halfbrick learned from developing these games? Have they found the secret sauce of game development? What does Halfbrick do differently from other developers? Focusing on the Scrum process, Jason will take the audience on a thrilling retrospective on some of the most critically acclaimed and successful games developed for iOS.
